How do you make Texas BBQ Sauce?

The hardest part of making this Texas Barbecue sauce is measuring the ingredients. Everything else is so simple. You literally place the ingredients into a saucepan, bring to a boil and cook for 10 to 15 minutes, until thickened.

Once thickened, allow to cool, and then transfer to an airtight container. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups ketchup
  • ¾ cup apple cider vinegar
  • ½ cup red wine vinegar
  • ⅓ cup water
  • ⅓ cup brown sugar packed
  • ¼ cup Worcestershire Sauce
  • 3 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne more if you like

Instructions

  • Whisk together all the ingredients in a small saucepan until combined 2. Bring to boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally, reduce heat and simmer on low for 10-15 minutes or until thickened
  • Remove from heat and cool. Transfer to air tight container
  • Use immediately or store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks

Notes

The best flavors develop after you store for 24 hours.
